Seeing our turbine on TV is always quite exciting, but it becomes even more so when you were there for the filming!

Last week, a camera crew from Hawkes Media Group dropped by to do some filming at the Urban Green Energy headquarters.  It was exciting to have our office transformed to a live set for a few hours!

Koreans from Gyeongsang seem to love Urban Green Energy!  In early June, a government delegation of 17 from the Green Environment Office in Gyeongsangbuk-Do Province visited our office to learn about renewable energy facilities available in NYC, urban greening, and green energy development.

We left the cool air-conditioned building and travelled to Brooklyn to visit Urban Green Energy's eddy vertical axis wind turbine at a construction site. Taking the A and thereafter the F, we arrived at the site where a green entrepreneur has erected a wind turbine in his ultra-green building. The complex’ features are innovative: recycled materials make up 70% of the building, super-insulation will keep its inhabitants toasty and it will be fully powered by wind and solar generators.

Interning at UGE for 3 weeks now, my curiosity with blogging has increased as well as the relization that many topics have to do with work and everyday life.  I saw that Microsoft bought Skype and now realize that multi-billion dollar companies show their dominance through investing in smaller, yet still well-known companies.  They gain the aspect of re-introducing their names and further increasing their marketing expansion.  Not only do I use Skype, but I also use Microsoft products including Xbox and Microsoft Office.

Google's new self-driving Prius is a new innovation in technology that would help me in my daily life considerably. Still recovering from my back surgery, walking to the train station in the morning can be painful. However, this type of technology would not only relax me knowing I have a ride to the station, but it would decrease my back pain and allow me to have more energy throughout my day. Google's idea of helping people with technology is one I would undoubtedly support, seeing as this car could be the solution to mine as well as many other individuals' daily inconveniences.

Just started my internship few weeks ago at UGE and I would like to thank everybody working at UGE for their warm welcome.
Using Alex's words, another intern I did no get the chance to meet, "the UGE team is 'young, creative, innovative and passionate.'" I add: scrupulous and quick to react!

Learning about wind energy has been a curiosity of mine for a few weeks.  Luckily, I was able to get an internship at Urban Green Energy.  Since starting this internship, I have learned about the process of installing wind turbines as well as how beneficial they can be to any consumer interested in purchasing one.  Having no background learning about this industry, I can honestly say I was nervous to start working in a new environment.  However, the employees of this company were open minded and took no time in making me feel comfortable.

This is my vision of UGE after 2 amazing months with the team:

This is for me the best example of the American start up: young, creative, innovative and passionate. The atmosphere promotes the self expression and the creativity. Everyone here does what he likes and does it well! I am sure that it's the best way to realize good work.

    Wow, what a year!

As 2010 comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to think back on some of our amazing accomplishments in 2010.

First, a quick second to put that one year time frame in perspective. Our company was formed three years ago, and our first product launched only one and a half years ago. Of our four products (eddy, eddy GT, UGE-4K, Sanya), only one had been launched as of one year ago. Still, we had sold to an impressive 20 or so countries and were already making a name for ourselves.
