The U.S. is the #1 trash-producing country in the world at 1,609 pounds per person per year. This means that 5% of the world's people generate 40% of the world's waste.

The first day of UGE Earth Week was quite successful with over 1/2 the office signing the Sustainability Pledge.

Today, we take on the challenge of going a full day without a work week staple, the disposable coffee cup.  Join us today as we attempt to avert a trend and minimize our waste going into the landfill.

Today's Fact:  Did you know that Americans throw away 25,000,000,000 styrofoam coffee cups every year?

A scary thought, but lucky for us, two nearby coffee shops gladly fill up travel mugs!

In 9 days, it will be the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day!

Starting one week prior, UGE's Green Team is launching UGE Earth Week 2012.  As always, we'll be living up to our motto of "Be Green, Be Great, and Have Fun" - only from April 16-20, we'll make an extra emphasis on being green by following the simple actions listed below. You're encouraged to adopt these, too!
