Mateo Chaskel, AVP OperationsMateo Chaskel - VP, Operations

Mateo was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and first came to live New York in 2005, when he started college.  He spent five years at Columbia University from where he obtained a B.S. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  After designing a wind turbine in his senior year of college, Mateo became an intern at UGE while completing his M.S., and has stayed with the company since.  Mateo currently helps UGE out as Vice-President of Operations, working to coordinate efforts across several areas of the company, including business development, engineering, marketing, and logistics. 

 

Anthony DiPietro - VP, FinanceAnthony DiPietro - VP, Finance

Anthony is responsible for managing the Company’s financial functions and logistics for customer orders.  Prior to joining UGE, Anthony held operational management positions at The Bank of New York and Moody’s.  Anthony holds a BBA in Business Management from Pace University in New York City.

 

 

 

 

Ryan Gilchrist - AVP, Business DevelopmentRyan Gilchrist - AVP, Business Development

Ryan grew up in New England where he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the environment. He believes that addressing the world's energy challenges, specifically our addiction to fossil fuels, is the key to our future. Ryan found an outlet for his passion for clean energy at UGE where he co-leads the Business Development team. He enjoys building relationships with UGE's Partner Network and working with them to maximize the abundance of worldwide distributed energy generation opportunities through the installation of UGE's clean energy solutions. Ryan graduated from the University of Virginia earning dual degrees in Physics and Environmental Thought and Practice.

 

Taka Koizumi - AVP, Business DevelopmentTaka Koizumi - AVP, Business Development

Taka was born in Japan and soon moved to Malaysia, where he enrolled in an American school in Kuala Lumpur.  Most of his high school life took place in Tennessee where he picked up fishing and a love for barbeque. After developing a new layer of ribs, he was ready for another challenge: studying engineering at the University of Rochester.  He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and moved to New York City looking for a job in line with his passion in renewable energy, landing him a place at UGE.

 

Hanjun Song, Chief EngineerHanjun Song - Chief Engineer

Engineer Song graduated from Dalian Technology University, majoring in Microelectronics. He has worked in the wind power industry for fifteen years, with comprehensive research and design capabilities and rich manufacturing and managerial experience. Before joining UGE, he served as the Chief Engineer for a leading manufacturer of small wind turbines in China. Projects he has led include ones focusing on energy efficiency, wind turbine design (both horizontal and vertical axis), solar power, and many others, all of which have had great influence in their respective industry. His name is on more than 20 national patents, including several of UGE's.

 


Chevaun Tarrach - VP, ComplianceChevaun Tarrach - VP, Compliance

Chevaun was born and raised in England and moved to New York, USA in 2009, when she joined Urban Green Energy. Chevaun is a former patent lawyer, having received her intellectual property law qualification from Queen Mary and Westfield University in London, UK. Previously Chevaun held a research position working on pharmaceuticals to treat Diabetes. She also has a Masters in Scientific Research and Bachelor of Science from the University of Liverpool. Chevaun currently manages the intellectual property portfolio, contracts, negotiation and compliance issues at UGE.

 

 

Scott Van Pelt, VP EngineeringScott Van Pelt - VP, Engineering

Scott manages Urban Green Energy's New York engineering team. He is responsible for certification of UGE's turbines in accordance with domestic and international standards for safety and performance. He also manages the technical support team and is responsible for the engineering content of company documents including installation manuals and product specifications. Scott graduated summa cum laude from Lehigh University's honors program with degrees in Civil Engineering and Integrated Business & Engineering.

 


Jian Yang - VP, FinanceJian Yang - VP, Finance

Jian is responsible for investor relations as well as a host of other duties ranging from finance to strategy.  Prior to joining UGE, Jian was in Citi’s energy investment banking group where he worked on multiple transactions ranging from capital raising to mergers and acquisitions totaling $1.6 billion.  Jian also worked as a strategy and operations consultant with Deloitte across multiple sectors including real estate, finance, energy, and retail.  He has a great deal of international experience having worked in and with colleagues in India, China and Europe.  Jian holds a MBA and Masters in International Relations from the University of Chicago and a B.S in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
